She is a pedagogue and ran a bookstore in Sant Cugat, El Pati dels Llibres, for nine years. She decided to enter politics because she is the wife of Raül Romeva—that is, the wife of a political prisoner in 21st-century Europe—and she wanted "to bring the voice of the persecuted and their families to Europe" and to denounce "the violation of fundamental rights in a member state of the European Union," a task she had previously carried out through the Catalan Association for Civil Rights, formed by families of political prisoners and exiles.

  • Participated in European studies on different existing educational methods
  • Worked at the La Caixa Foundation, where she coordinated and managed several cycles of conferences on cinema and literature held at CaixaForum
  • Cultural programmer for the Forum of Cultures held in Barcelona in 2004
  • Ran El Pati dels Llibres, a children's and young adult bookstore in Sant Cugat, for nine years until she had to sell it
  • Former treasurer of the Catalan Council for Children’s and Young Adult Books

Member of the Castellers de Sant Cugat (a traditional Catalan human tower group)

  • Member of the Associació Catalana pels Drets Civils (ACDC) (Catalan Association for Civil Rights), the association made up of the families of the political prisoners and exiles.

Member of the European Parliament and spokesperson for Esquerra Republicana in the European Parliament.
