Esquerra sets the national question and the economic and energy crisis as key issues in the General Policy Debate

The Esquerra Republicana group at the Catalan Parliament has set the new political year on track with a double working day. Esquerra’s parliamentarians have taken stock of the first year of the legislature and have set the guidelines for the coming months, especially in view of the General Policy Debate.

The political year will be marked by the Catalan national question and the political negotiation with Spain, while also dealing with the economic, energy and cost of living crisis. The parliamentary group wants these to be among the priority issues in the coming General Policy Debate.

“We vindicate parliamentary work as a tool for transformation; Parliament is where we have to make things happen; transform ideas into law, proposals into reality, to be useful to the people. And we must remove this from the background noise, away from personal hubris,” assured Esquerra spokeswoman Marta Vilalta. In this regard, Esquerra has set itself to address proposals and respond to the people from a position of “broad consensus, respect and ensuring the stability of the Government,” she concluded.
