Esquerra leader’s Latin American schedule: Colombia
Mr Junqueras’ first visit to Latin America was to Colombia on 14 and 15 November. On the first day he met with representatives of political parties Colombia Humana, Unión Patriótica and Polo Democrático, including the General Secretaries of all three to exchange opinions on the realities in Colombia and Catalonia, but also in Latin America and Europe as a whole. Mr Junqueras also attended an event with the Catalan Community in Colombia.
On the second day of the visit, Mr Junqueras met with Gustavo Petro at the president’s official residence, the Casa de Nariño. The conversation focused on the relations between Catalonia and Colombia, including economic, commercial and tourist aspects, and the global challenges faced both by Europe and the Americas.
Esquerra’s leader also met with the President of the Chamber of Representatives, David Racero. To end the day, Mr Junqueras held a conference at the Universidad del Rosario in Bogotá.
